A simple recipe for royal icing without meringue powder.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine powdered sugar and water.
- Add corn syrup and vanilla extract.
- Mix until smooth and glossy.
- If icing is too thick, add more water a few drops at a time.
- If too thin, add more powdered sugar.
Notes
- Use immediately or cover to prevent drying.
- Can be colored with food coloring.
- Store in an airtight container.
